His daddy raced when he was younger; his uncle, Don Richeson, serves as a crew chief for Ken Schrader’s ARCA RE/MAX Series efforts, and his cousin Josh Richeson has raced in the ARCA RE/MAX Series as well.

So it was only a natural that Hudson would follow in his family’s footsteps.

Hudson, at just 17-years-old, plans to make his sixth career ARCA RE/MAX Series start at Salem Speedway this Saturday for the 75th running of the Eddie Gilstrap Motors Fall Classic 200 by Advance Auto Parts.

And, while young Hudson is no stranger to Salem, he made his ARCA RE/MAX Series debut on the renowned, southern-Indiana bullring this past April.

“We hope to qualify in the top five and run in the top five the whole race,” said Hudson. “We qualified sixth last time and ran in the top 10 all race so we hope the second time around we’ll be a lot better than that.”

But Hudson’s Salem roots go back much further than a single ARCA RE/MAX Series race. The Kentucky native regularly makes the two-hour trip from his home in Owensboro to southern Indiana to compete in the track’s weekly late model series.

In fact, Hudson is currently fourth in points, acquiring two wins and a second place finish so far this season. So, even if he only has 17 years, when it comes to Salem, seat-time is not an issue.

Given his past successes at Salem, Hudson considers himself a favorite for this weekend’s ARCA RE/MAX Series event. But the rookie driver should feel even more confident heading into Salem given his solid runs at ARCA RE/MAX Series short tracks this season.

The high school senior finished eighth at Salem in his debut, 18th at Toledo in May, 10th at Berlin, sixth at Lake Erie and 20th at Toledo in September.

But it is the story behind those finishes that really showcases Hudson’s short track abilities. Hudson was running third at both Berlin and Lake Erie hunting down the leaders near the end of each race before boots from behind relegated the driver toward the back of the field. Yet, he came back to finish in the top ten in both races.

Given Hudson’s short track credentials, a solid finish at Salem this weekend is certainly not out of the question.

This weekend’s ARCA RE/MAX Series race at Salem Speedway serves as a headliner to the ARCA Lincoln Welders Truck Series. Both series race on Saturday, September 17th. Tickets to the Eddie Gilstrap Motors Fall Classic 200 by Advance Auto Parts are still available by calling Salem Speedway at (888) 246-7223. For the most up-to-date information on the ARCA RE/MAX Series, visit the official ARCA website at http://www.arcaracing.com.

friends.
never cross the canadian border with a new car with an expired temporary plate. Also, if you do so happen to have an expired temporary plate on your car, do not be in training for a company and live out of an extended stay for 3 months, only to be moving around the country for the next three months. The border guards do not like this very much. so just a warning, if you do have any of these offenses, then prepare to be stopped, searched, and questioned for over an hour at the border. oh yeah, they also let a drug dog drool all over your new car. awesome. just FYI.

but on a good note, i did see mr sloan and it was glorious.
chocolate milk, cuban cigars, and kabobs are good times.
i had fun mr. sloan. until we meet again in March.

now i have reached my last day in Detroit. I have enjoyed being here, it definitly gets a bum rap for being awful, although parts of it are pretty crappy. but i am looking forward to traveling for the next few months, and then ultimately moving to south carolina.

there will be some serious mealing going down at JASON'S DELI this sunday around 6pm. meet in the commons if you wish to go. or just call me. peace.

aaron

Here is our engagement photo. Isn't Beth cute?? All is going well now. I haven't updated this in forever, so here it goes. I'm still based out of Detroit, MI right now, although I haven't been staying here very much. I've been traveling to NYC,Denver,Dallas,(Pennsylvania to see Beth) and next week Las Vegas for the company. it's been amazing. I'm leaving the Detroit office around Sept.8th, to go home for a bit and then begin traveling around the southern states with different reps. Ultimately, I will end up moving to (95% sure) the Rock Hill, South Carolina area. And have a list of accounts in Northern South Carolina and the coast line of North and South Carolina. Pretty sweet huh?? go 2 hours east and I hit the ocean. go an hour west and I hit the mountains. So i'll move there around the end of October/beginning of November. I'm pretty pumped.

I got a new car as many of you know. The buick just couldn't make it anymore. Everything was leaking... i mean everything. so I got 800 bucks for it and I now have an explorer. it's awesome. i love it so far. Man... i've been thinking alot lately about how sweet vicious viper was... if i'm listening to our cd... i begin to think.. what could have been if we started earlier... but anyway... it was fun. When thinking about college, i'm pretty sure i'm going to miss the most that i cannot just see all of my friends in a matter of minutes. and that i cannot just have a bronson party whenever we want.. oh weel, that's life. i won't miss the homework though. I'd rather have homework here and get paid for it... haha anyway... the wedding plans are going along good. i'm excited... anyway.. back to work, earning the big bucks. have a great day... Also.. Neil that picture was awesome of MXPX... just thought i'd let you know.

So while we were up there, I popped the question. it was amazing. So here is a couple of pics, but there are more at this Link. Also there are some Vicious Viper Pictures in there. we played after the contest... it was a blast!

    <lj:music>nothing- in the library</lj:music>

well,
i am sitting in belmont's library, i place i rarely go. i have an 8am class, then an 1.5hr break so i don't want to walk back to my apt, but i didn't want to just sit and do nothing on a random couch. so i decided to come to the library and check email, check jobs, and now post. Well, like i said before, I now have a yafro account, so now i can post pictures. here is the link to the account in case you wish to check out other photos, not posted here. I was going to put a whole lot more pictures up, but the comp i was uploading on, took forever, so i only got these loaded. I want to put up some vicious viper pics soon!!

More pictures

Speaking of vicious viper, we are going to play at TAKE BACK THE STACHE 05!! It is a glorious thing, one song before, then a couple afterwards.. it's going to be huge. I will be giving up my title as the mustache champion. plus other huge surprises are instore, bigger and better. here's my championship photo from last year! It was a sight to behold.

Disturbing I know... hahaha

Here's the Website for TAKE BACK THE STACHE 05 Check it out!!!

Random thought:There's a guy sitting two computers down from me with a turbin(sp?) on his head. It's pretty awesome. Then next to him, is a black guy with a ridiculously huge afro. Then beside him is a chinese dude. It's quite the multicultural library. Then there's me, the white trash redneck with the dirty mustache. fun times! haha I am now hungry, so I will depart from the library to get some milk. i love milk.

If you want to try the DVD shipped to your home thing, then do this, you can do the Blockbuster one for free for 2 weeks. All you have to do is cancel on the final day of the free trial. Plus, I just found this out... if you do the Blockbuster one, you can print off coupons for 2 free rentals to the actual Blockbuster store.. so that's cool. anyway. do it if you want to. i would appreciate it, but you don't have to... i will still be your friend.

My girlfriend is playing right now at her flag football teams game. i wish i was watching. I hope they do good, and maybe even win. My team is 1-1. SO we are doing good. If our whole team would show up to a game then we would be amazing.. so my focus is to make it into the playoffs and then everybody will be there then, so we will dominate!!! Hopefully make it 2 championships in a row!! Well, I will go now. I must cut jeremy's hair. Mason's Barber shop is officially open for business! have a great day.

Well, i'm sitting at the commons front desk and not at Tractor Supply Co. Today is my day to come back to Belmont and sit at the desk for three hours so i can keep my job as an RA. So far the internship has been pretty good. I've just been doing a lot of different projects for my bosses. I've contacted like 200 CEO's and Presidents of companies and invited them to a conference we are putting on in a couple of weeks. So i've been really busy with that. But I think things are about to get even more better. I sat in and talked to Steve, one of the higher up Merchadising guys, and he really likes me and my drive. We talked for a good hour. SO we decided that we are going to go out and play a round of golf sometime. He was excited, i'm excited.. he's definately a good man to know. He's bald too so that's cool.

Last weekend, (saturday) my parents came into town, i took them to the airport cause they are out in ABQ, new mexico visiting my sister and bro in law. I wish i could have gone. i haven't been out there in like a yr and a half... i want to go.. but now i'm to busy. Anyway, after I dropped them off and took their car.. which is way better than mine.. so i have a pimp ride this week.. .. I went on a bike ride with Marty. This was the second time that we went out together. It was amazing, we rode a total of 28.5 miles... we climbed some serious hills, and my legs were really sore. but it was so fun. I love cycling. it is so much better than running... you actually go places while cycling.. today i bought another jersey, a little better one so i look more professional. but it's fun. I wish i didn't have to sit here until 6 or i would go riding right now.

It's like a different world right now. because i work all day, like I will be doing when i'm out of college, but i still come back at night and get to see my friends and my amazing girlfriend. so it's fun... i'm making some serious bank at Tractor Supply Co. so i opened up another savings account this week. this will be the ring fund account. yes... that type of ring... you know. i'm excited... but anyway. i guess i will go now... maybe i'll find the TSC logo somewhere and stick it in here.

yeah..

I never thought that growing up on a farm for all those years would come back to help me in the business world.

The great land of Kashmir wins Gold in the Commons Olympics.

The true definition of a team was spelled out yesterday as Kashmir successfully defeated Tanzania, Smaland, and Canada in the first ever Common's olympics. Despite not even placing in the final event, Kashmir held on to the Gold after just three events. Kashmir owned both the team scrabble and relay races to bring home the gold. Tanzania got out to an early lead in the competition after having a player win gold in the bubblegum blowing contest. Then the team events started and Kashmir came roaring back to take the lead and never surrender it again. The heart warming story of the olympics proved to be Canada. Heading into the last event of the Olympics ( the Egg toss), Canada was in fourth place. But with a heart of silver and nothing to lose, Canada fielded two teams in this event, placing 1st and 2nd on the podium. This comeback both, vaulted Canada up to a team Silver, and also secured the first place win for Kashmir. The games were good, the gifts were great and the fans were chaotic. What a glorious day it was in the Common Olympic Stadium.

In personal news, I am waiting to hear back today about whether I have obtained an internship at Tractor Supply Co, or whether I have to sit in class and graduate in December. I hope I get the internship. I know I'm in thr running, I just hope they pick me. Well, i know i have not posted in a long time, and I'm sorry about that for those of you who look to see whats happening in my life. Ra training was two weeks ago, very long, tiresome, but it was pretty good this year. They definitely tried to keep it interesting for us returners, which i appreciated. Now everyone is here in the commons and it is a glorious time. Beth is across the grass, my boys Kyle and Marty are just a stones throw away... its great. My roommates are really good. no problems yet. I don't see any forthcoming. umm.... i am road biking finally. I'm so pumped, I got the tires all fixed and there are many things in the mail on the way, to help me succeed at this. My "coach" Marty is awesome in helping me get started... he just road 109 miles last saturday... and yes it is 109, and not a typo... he's a champ!! But It is so fun, to ride down streets, you go soooo much faster than running, its easier on the knees and legs, but at the same time, gives me an awesome work out and personal reflection time... except when i can't breathe! haha but that will change as i get back into shape. My goal is to be able to ride a solid 50 miles by the end of the semester. this could be tough, but very possible. i'll try to take a picture of my bike sometime and put it on here. its awesome, black and yellow, and my biking outfit.. amazing.. people laugh, but i know they are just jealous! haha

Well, that is about it. keep me in your prayers today that i get the internship, if I'm supposed to get it. If not, and God has other plans, cool, i'll go to classes! Well, have a great day. I miss my boys in sidewalk slam, i haven't seen then in forever... i hear nothing but good things about them in the future... good things.

Have a great day. Aaron

lets see it's been a few weeks since i updated last. man this summer is going by fast. only 2 1/2 weeks till the ra's come back. well, i can 80% cay that i am not going to get an internship this fall... at least one outside of nashville... so in a way that sucks.. but then again, i can just go ahead and be here and then be all graduated in December. ready to hit the real world. I guess it just wasn't supposed to be. Maybe i can find something here in nashville.

I'm starting this e-commerce business, so if you want to know more, ask me. I'm excited about it. I'm looking out for my financial future! hehe but seriously, i'm excited. I'll soon have a web page you can look at. so that's cool.

umm other news, beth came down last week, amazing. But we really didn't get to spend more then 3 hours alone. so that kinda sucked.. but hey, i was just glad she was here so i could give her a hug and kiss anytime... we went to watch my cousin race on sunday of last week. He just turned 16 yrs old and he's kickin the crap out of all these 40-45 yr old men. its awesome. He was the Kentucky Speedway circuit last year over everyone, so he;s moving up to bigger tracks this year. It makes me real nervous when i watch him, just because he's my cousin ya know. he's so much younger, but yet he's going 90 mph around a track. but it's fun. I went back to watch him race last saturday night here outside of nashville after i dropped beth off at the airport. He got second place which was great... the first place guy and him lapped everyone else on the field (10 cars) excpet the third place guy, and he was over 3/4 of a lap back when it ended. so it was never really close except between 1st and 2nd. heres a little page about him.
