15th September, 2005. 9:32 pm. article about my cousin!

Here's an article on my cousin Brett. It's awesome. If anyone knows a company that wants to sponsor a racer, contact me! haha but seriously. call me.

High School Senior Hudson Hooked on Salem PDF Print E-mail
hudsonhs052.3.jpgSALEM IN (9-15-05) – Like many in the industry, Brett Hudson comes from a racing family. His daddy raced when he was younger; his uncle, Don Richeson, serves as a crew chief for Ken Schrader’s ARCA RE/MAX Series efforts, and his cousin Josh Richeson has raced in the ARCA RE/MAX Series as well.

So it was only a natural that Hudson would follow in his family’s footsteps.

Hudson, at just 17-years-old, plans to make his sixth career ARCA RE/MAX Series start at Salem Speedway this Saturday for the 75th running of the Eddie Gilstrap Motors Fall Classic 200 by Advance Auto Parts.

And, while young Hudson is no stranger to Salem, he made his ARCA RE/MAX Series debut on the renowned, southern-Indiana bullring this past April.

“We hope to qualify in the top five and run in the top five the whole race,” said Hudson. “We qualified sixth last time and ran in the top 10 all race so we hope the second time around we’ll be a lot better than that.”

But Hudson’s Salem roots go back much further than a single ARCA RE/MAX Series race. The Kentucky native regularly makes the two-hour trip from his home in Owensboro to southern Indiana to compete in the track’s weekly late model series.

hudsoncarshotsalem05.jpgIn fact, Hudson is currently fourth in points, acquiring two wins and a second place finish so far this season. So, even if he only has 17 years, when it comes to Salem, seat-time is not an issue.

Given his past successes at Salem, Hudson considers himself a favorite for this weekend’s ARCA RE/MAX Series event. But the rookie driver should feel even more confident heading into Salem given his solid runs at ARCA RE/MAX Series short tracks this season.

The high school senior finished eighth at Salem in his debut, 18th at Toledo in May, 10th at Berlin, sixth at Lake Erie and 20th at Toledo in September.

But it is the story behind those finishes that really showcases Hudson’s short track abilities. Hudson was running third at both Berlin and Lake Erie hunting down the leaders near the end of each race before boots from behind relegated the driver toward the back of the field. Yet, he came back to finish in the top ten in both races.

Given Hudson’s short track credentials, a solid finish at Salem this weekend is certainly not out of the question.

This weekend’s ARCA RE/MAX Series race at Salem Speedway serves as a headliner to the ARCA Lincoln Welders Truck Series. Both series race on Saturday, September 17th. Tickets to the Eddie Gilstrap Motors Fall Classic 200 by Advance Auto Parts are still available by calling Salem Speedway at (888) 246-7223. For the most up-to-date information on the ARCA RE/MAX Series, visit the official ARCA website at http://www.arcaracing.com

7th September, 2005. 11:45 am. words of wisdom for all

friends.
never cross the canadian border with a new car with an expired temporary plate. Also, if you do so happen to have an expired temporary plate on your car, do not be in training for a company and live out of an extended stay for 3 months, only to be moving around the country for the next three months. The border guards do not like this very much. so just a warning, if you do have any of these offenses, then prepare to be stopped, searched, and questioned for over an hour at the border. oh yeah, they also let a drug dog drool all over your new car. awesome. just FYI.

but on a good note, i did see mr sloan and it was glorious.
chocolate milk, cuban cigars, and kabobs are good times.
i had fun mr. sloan. until we meet again in March.

now i have reached my last day in Detroit. I have enjoyed being here, it definitly gets a bum rap for being awful, although parts of it are pretty crappy. but i am looking forward to traveling for the next few months, and then ultimately moving to south carolina.

there will be some serious mealing going down at JASON'S DELI this sunday around 6pm. meet in the commons if you wish to go. or just call me. peace.

23rd August, 2005. 9:37 am. We're go'in down down down to lovers lane...

Here is our engagement photo. Isn't Beth cute?? All is going well now. I haven't updated this in forever, so here it goes. I'm still based out of Detroit, MI right now, although I haven't been staying here very much. I've been traveling to NYC,Denver,Dallas,(Pennsylvania to see Beth) and next week Las Vegas for the company. it's been amazing. I'm leaving the Detroit office around Sept.8th, to go home for a bit and then begin traveling around the southern states with different reps. Ultimately, I will end up moving to (95% sure) the Rock Hill, South Carolina area. And have a list of accounts in Northern South Carolina and the coast line of North and South Carolina. Pretty sweet huh?? go 2 hours east and I hit the ocean. go an hour west and I hit the mountains. So i'll move there around the end of October/beginning of November. I'm pretty pumped.

I got a new car as many of you know. The buick just couldn't make it anymore. Everything was leaking... i mean everything. so I got 800 bucks for it and I now have an explorer. it's awesome. i love it so far. Man... i've been thinking alot lately about how sweet vicious viper was... if i'm listening to our cd... i begin to think.. what could have been if we started earlier... but anyway... it was fun. When thinking about college, i'm pretty sure i'm going to miss the most that i cannot just see all of my friends in a matter of minutes. and that i cannot just have a bronson party whenever we want.. oh weel, that's life. i won't miss the homework though. I'd rather have homework here and get paid for it... haha anyway... the wedding plans are going along good. i'm excited... anyway.. back to work, earning the big bucks. have a great day... Also.. Neil that picture was awesome of MXPX... just thought i'd let you know.

Rock. Aaron
